Care & Repair

Give your things a second life.

Repairing made easy.

Why throw it away when there’s another way? Does your sock have a hole or your shirt a broken seam? No reason to toss it! With a few simple tricks, you can keep wearing your clothes – and hopefully avoid buying new ones.

Two quick tutorials show you how to …

  • Darn holes in socks.
  • Restore damaged seams to their original shape.

Give it a try and give your favorite piece a second chance! 👉

Where to put sorted-out clothing?

Sometimes you have to part with old favorites. We'll tell you where to put them:

New and used clothing
(still wearable).

Donate

At Fairwertung, you can find suitable collection points near you (throughout Germany).

Resell

Platforms like Vinted or Momox make it easy for you to sell your clothes.

Give as a gift

Friends, family, coworkers – maybe someone in your circle will be happy about this!

Important ♻️ 🧦

Always donate socks and shoes in pairs, otherwise they are often sorted out and end up in the trash—even if they are still wearable.

Not all clothing donation bins are the same. We recommend nonprofit collection points from the Fairwertung network. There, partners work transparently and inform about their processes. Depending on the condition, clothing can be passed on, locally processed, or used as recycling material—such as secondhand goods, for social institutions, or in textile recycling. This way, your discarded clothing becomes a resource, not waste.

Damaged clothing (no longer wearable).

Socks

Please throw in the residual waste. Unfortunately, broken socks are currently hardly recyclable – this is mainly due to the mixed materials (e.g., cotton with elastane) and the fact that they are often heavily worn or soiled, which complicates the recycling process.

Sportswear, jeans, hoodies, etc.

If the items are not heavily soiled, you can put them in the clothing donation bin – even if they are damaged. Sportswear is often durable due to its high-quality materials and is suitable for repair and reuse (re-use) despite minor defects.

Underwear

You can put items made of pure cotton in the clothing donation bin. However, lace or synthetic materials (e.g., polyamide, elastane) belong in the residual waste. Here too, the material mix and hygiene requirements usually prevent recycling.

Heavily soiled products

Clothing heavily soiled with oil, paint, or other substances should be disposed of in the residual waste. Such contamination significantly impairs the sorting and recycling process.

What happens in the used clothing container?

Your clothing is sorted: wearable items can be resold or donated. Items that are no longer wearable can – depending on their condition and material – be processed into cleaning cloths, insulation materials, or other recycling materials.

Our commitment:
Basics that last.

Our products are timeless basics that never go out of style and are designed to accompany you through multiple seasons – instead of being discarded after a short time.

But even with us, sometimes a hole appears. And that annoys us just as much as it does you. That’s why our team, led by Anika, works every day to continuously improve our quality standards.

Circular Product Development – Status & Outlook

Together with circular.fashion, we analyzed our portfolio and, based on this, developed the foundations for circular product design. In this context, we trained our employees accordingly and created a shared internal understanding of the criteria a circularly designed product should meet and what is particularly important in its development. On this basis, we plan to launch the first circular styles on the market starting in 2027. The implementation depends on technical, material-related, and production-related requirements.

Small steps in everyday life.

Repair, recycle, or pass on clothing – and be mindful with your textiles. Oh, and even though our marketing is really good – only buy what you truly need!
